An original 1962 Beaumaris Modern classic designed by well known Beaumaris architect, John Baird, required a sympathetic renovation.

The owners, both designers with an interest in Mid Century Design, were keen to keep the kitchen in the original location but make it more functional.

With some rearranging of the space and using part of the adjacent laundry as a Butlers Pantry the new kitchen has met the owner’s brief. The colour scheme is inspired by the modernist origins of the house and the kitchen displays the owner’s collections of Mid Century industrial design. A similar approach was taken when designing the wall unit for living room and family bathroom; new joinery served to enhance the architecture of the original house.
